*UPDATE* A few of us visited Warburton on Saturday to catch up with Danny and scope out the courts. The court we’ll be using has a brand new bitumen surface. The boards will be offcuts from the local saw mill.
We have at least 4 cars going up and a dozen players. Have a chat to Vive, Cale, Rob or Damon at polo this week to arrange a lift. You could also catch the train to Lilydate and ride the rail trail to the festival.
10:30am – 1:30 Bike Polo intro sessions and demo games, skills workshops, some fast and slow games. Mallets and gear available, use your own bike or borrow one, helmets required
(We’ll be making mallets too but you’ll need to BYO ski poles or 16mm aluminium tubing)
2pm – 4pm Warburton Bike Festival Polo Tourney.
This will be a small round robin or double elimination tournament depending on the number of players who show up. Teams will be required to wear matching colour t-shirts (bring a few bright plain shirts). Teams may include experienced and new players.
*TOURNEY TEAMS UPDATE* At this stage we are leaning towards alowing teams to form themselves, but with a requirement that each team consists of at least one new player.
We reserve the right to change these details closer to the day. (If you are super serious about your tournaments, we’ll see you NEXT week
Sunday: 10:30 till dark > Bike Polo Into Session and Demo Games, Skills workshops and some fast and slow games.
