Last Sunday (28th), 6 or us met with a TV crew to record a pilot episode for a new TV show called “On your bike”. Their aim is to get people looking at their bikes as a form of fun and not just a form of transport.
The Bike Polo piece took around 4 hours to record, some interviews with myself explaining basic rules, the mallets we use, where polo is played (Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane etc) and inviting viewers to check out the bikepolo.com.au website for more info. The show will have a national audience.
We played some games for the camera and some staged shots where the presenter, Sonia, tried to catch a pass and shoot a goal.. It took some time for her to get the hang of the new bike and mallet, but in the end we got there
We showed off a few sweet passes and goals, tapping in and ball jointing
There was a good mix of people, not too many “beardy nerdy” people (thank you Hot Spots guide
and a few girls too
Thanks to everyone that could make it down!
The TV crew said they might have a cut ready in late April, so about a month from now. Will let you know as soon as the episode is ready to watch.
