Getting to Melbourne from the Airport

Melbourne’s has two airports. The main airport is Tullamarine, the secondary airport (used by budget carriers such as Jetstar) is Avalon.  Tullamarine is located about 20km from the CBD with regular Shuttle bus services (see skybus below).  Maxi cabs (minivan taxis) may be cheaper if there are many people with large luggage. Avalon is much further, about 60km out of the CBD.

Tullamarine Shuttle Bus Service: http://www.skybus.com.au/. (following paragraph is from their website:)

Bikes can be carried on-board if dismantled and secured in a box.  Shuttle busses will terminate at Southern Cross train station, details here and here.  All train lines pass through Southern Cross to the suburbs.
