Sydney Bike Polo – New Sunday Location

DSC_0497small
This Sunday Sydney Bike Polo trialed a new court for polo at Alexandria Park, Alexandria, on the corner of Park Rd and Buckland St.

It is definitely a nice court to play on – nice smooth surface and enclosed on all 4 sides. The spot has potential to host some big tournaments there. Next to the basketball court are 2 tennis courts with the same surface and removable posts that could easily be played on as well. BBQ and toilet facilities as well. Australian Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships 2010 anyone?

This will be the new Sunday court for now and we will be playing from 12 noon to avoid conflict with a group of basketball players who play later in the afternoon every week.

Fight Like Hell – Results

Melbournament Group Photo
The Fight Like Hell Melbournament was held over the weekend. Seven pairs registered for the 2×2 round robin action:

Stop The Rot (Rob, Scott)
ZQKFX (AJ, Vive)
Wreck ‘n Ruin (Caff, Sam)
Tap Tap (Damon, Ray)
Jailbreakers – Castlemaine (Laurie, Paddy)
Borries (Bart, keZ)
We Xpctd Horses (James, Nick)

Abbly supported by the Melbournament mascot, a great day was had by all. A big thankyou to all who turned up TO PLAY (yes, i’m looking at you Pete!), especially to the Castlemaine crew, who proved that living in the sticks is no impediment to playing good polo.

Results:

1st. Tap Tap
2nd. Borries
3rd. Stop The Rot

A more complete roundup will be posted soon!
