thursdays

some thursday night polo pics (youtube)

A quiet one last night, it was a bit windy and there was what an optimist might call a limited turnout. However there were some quality skids ripped down the entire length of the court – some backwards riding and some riding backwards, not the same thing – and some quiet contemplation of a pretty shitty week. These pics are from a combination of the two thursdays prior to this one just gone, in case you were wondering. The Terminus is a pretty sweet pub that suits most of the thursday crew, their pizza is not so bad and they have some interesting shit beer on tap. Geographically The Grandview at the corner of Station street and Heidelberg road is closer, and more ghetto, but I can’t vouch for their parmas. Yet. For the record yes lugging that shit around is taking a certain toll on the bike – some white paint deposited here and there on the paintwork, and there are some loose spokes – but hopefully I’ll be getting the Mark 2 (aluminium tubing) mobile court edging operational by next Thursday Real Soon Now.

In other news, how about a “brick drive” to line the west edge of the NSC court? I reckon about 150 buried vertically should just about do it, and be relatively theft-proof. Does anyone know any brickies? How much does a bag of cement cost anyway? So many questions … At least there’s plenty of sand there …
